starHow to Apply for a Grant

SERF awards grants twice a year (generally in the Winter and Spring) through a Grant Application process. PDF versions of the pdf Grant Application forms are available from this site (see below). Six weeks prior to the submission deadline, forms are also available at the following locations: the front desk of each of the Sudbury schools including Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, the Sudbury Public Schools' Central Office, and the reference desk of the Goodnow Library.

Proposals are blinded, then reviewed by the Grant Review Panel, comprised of SERF board members, who judge applications on their educational merit and applicability to SERF’s goals. The panel presents recommendations to the full board for discussion and approval.

If requested, SERF will provide an advisor to assist applicants in preparing their applications.

starWhat type of projects get funded?

SERF supports student enrichment and curriculum enhancement projects that expand a student’s problem-solving skills, self-esteem or knowledge base. Grants also support professional development opportunities for teachers. SERF funds two categories of grants.

Mini-grants ($750 or less) are intended for short-term projects, staff development or curriculum enhancements that expand a child's problem solving skills, knowledge base or self-esteem.

Enrichment Grants (greater than $750) are designed for long term projects involving curriculum improvement, student enrichment or staff development which feature grade level, specialty department or system-wide application.
